49 Weeks...I'm walking now!

I have been walking a lot more lately, and even took 16 steps at one time!  I have also been trying to change up my schedule.  I usually take 2 45 minute naps during the day.  One day, I skipped my afternoon nap, and two days later, I took an hour and a half long morning nap!
We had Daddy's work holiday party at our house this week.  Ellie spent the night at Nana Arden's.  Because it was our house, I got to stay.  It was nice to see everyone, but when I was ready to go to bed, I crashed!  I didn't hear any of the noise going on.
I did a lot of fun stuff with Mommy this week too.  I lasted a long time in the workroom this week.  Mommy was really proud of me!  We also went to Kohl's to buy some birthday clothes for Ellie and me.  It looks like this party is going to be a lot of fun!  Mommy took Ellie and me to a car wash.  I was scared and screamed bloody murder the whole time, even though Ellie tried to calm me down.  Ellie got out of school early on a beautiful day, so we went to the park.  I loved walking around the lake and watching kids play, but still hated that swing!
Mommy started doing curriculum writing again this week, which means Nana Arden came to stay with me for two days.  I know Mommy was really sad to leave me, but I had a lot of fun with Nana Arden.  Although, I didn't like the milk and spit it out!  Nana Arden said she wished she had a camera to catch the look on my face!  I was up early and ate like crazy when Mommy came home though!

48 Weeks...Maybe there are teeth, maybe not!

Mommy has gotten a couple of glances in my mouth, and she said one day there are three teeth on top, other days, there are none!  They are being tricky!  They are bothering me a lot at night too, and I wake up really early in the morning.  Daddy gave me a cold teether this morning and I went back to sleep for a little bit.  I usually only take 2 45 minute naps a day too, and I wake up screaming.  I can't wait for these teeth to break through my gums for good!
Mommy took Ellie and me on a trip to see her friend, Auntie Heather.  I had a lot of fun watching everyone play, and we got to go to the park for a little bit because the weather was so nice.  I wanted no part of the swing though!  They also have cats, and I loved them!  We all did a pretty good job sleeping at night in the same room, although Mommy looked really tired the next morning!
Ellie was home one day from school so we went on a walk and also went to the park.  I screamed in the swing there too.   We have also walked with Marion and Autumn a couple of times too.  We see Nana Arden at the mall some mornings.  One of these days, I am going to recognize her!
I am starting to communicate more lately too.  I point to things that I want or need, like milk, bananas, bread, apples, or my favorite family picture.  I love to point to everyone in the picture and have people tell me who they are.  I can even point out a few myself!  I also love owls, especially when I am wearing one on my shirt.  If someone asks me what it is, I make a "mmmm, mmmm" sound for "hoot hoot!"
I've been doing some more walking too.  I have taken up to 6 steps at a time.
I also turned 11 months!  Mommy and Ellie are sad that I will only be a baby for another month.  I heard there is something called "cake" that I will be able to dig into.  I can't wait!

47 Weeks...First steps and maybe more teeth!

That's right, I finally did it!  I took my first steps!  We were downstairs and Ellie was playing with a large exercise ball.  I was so excited about it that I didn't even think and took 4 steps to get to it!  Mommy and Ellie were so excited!  Daddy and just gone upstairs and thought something was wrong when he heard them screaming!  I have taken a couple of steps here and then since then and Daddy has seen it a couple of times.
Mommy keeps trying to look in my mouth to see teeth on the top.  She thinks there are 2 on the top right, but I'll never let her see!  I have been drooling a lot too, and ended up with a yucky snotty cold.  I haven't been sleeping great and I want to nurse more often.  I point to Mommy now when I want to nurse.  I hope this goes away soon.  I have been lucky that I haven't been sick much.
We had a visit from our friends the Kaden's.  I was asleep and they were all here when I woke up!  I was surprised, but enjoyed having other kids to watch and play with.  Daddy was off school one day because of ice and it was nice to have him home.  I have started to really understand a lot of words and can find things when I am asked.  When Mommy asked where the owl was, I found it on my toy and then knew I had one on my shirt too!  I am fascinated by family pictures.  I usually cry and point at them until someone gets them down so I can point to them and see them up close!  I also love to put things on my head and wait until someone notices.

46 Weeks...Back to my routine (sort of)

Things kind of went back to normal this week.  Daddy and Ellie went back to school so I have Mommy all to myself!  It was really cold this week though, so Ellie went to school 2 hours late a couple of days.  It was nice to have a slow start to the morning and have her around to play with, but it really messed up my naps!  One morning, we visited Mr. Kenny and he was so happy to see us!  I really liked his dogs too!  Mommy started walking with Marion at the mall again, so I got to see my baby friend Autumn.  I also went to a counselor meeting with Mommy and had a lot of fun pointing to everyone and everything.
I have really been practicing on my motor skills.  I like to use anything I can to walk around, including the kitchen chairs!  I'm also starting to give "kisses" by head-butting people or books.  I have been able to pick out a couple of animals in pictures, including an owl and cat.  I'm starting to work on my verbal skills too!
