1 Year, 10 Months...Christmas is coming!!!

St. Nicholas came to our house!  I didn't totally understand the stocking thing.  I was only excited for one thing that I pulled out of it and then I was done.  It was a Mickey Mouse coloring book, and I color in it ALL THE TIME!
We got to visit Santa at Bass Pro later that day.  I was interested, but not so sure of him once Mommy let go of me!  I stayed on his lap long enough to tell him that I wanted a "doggie" for Christmas!  Afterwards, my new sentence was "Santa lap cheese".  (The cheese was for the smile when getting my picture taken.)
We had a big Christmas party at Miss Bruna's too.  There were so many good things to eat, we made ornaments for our parents, and Santa visited!  We all got to sit on his lap and he gave me a really cute bear.
I like to play "football", but every sport with a ball is football to me.  I really like playing basketball!  I love playing games with my sister, and I always say "my toot" to let her know when it is my turn!  I just really love my sister.  I miss her when she is gone and she is the first person to get a hug from me.  I say her name "I-E" all the time!  I really hate when she is sad and/or crying.  I have to go and give her a hug to make her feel better.  I am also pretty good at making happy, sad, mad, and scared faces.  No, my mom's not a counselor at all!
We had a couple of play dates, and on one of them, the bigger kids made blessing bags to give out to people who need something when we are driving.  It feels good to help!
We did family pictures with Daddy's family one day and I did not like that at all!  I cried the whole time!  I ended up with a 102 degree fever later that day.  Good thing I was better the next day.  We celebrated Nana Arden's birthday at her house and ate Shakespeare's pizza!  I love pizza!  I played ball and ran around the house.  It was a lot of fun until I accidentally broke a glass.  I felt really bad about that.
I went potty in the potty chair again.  I'm not sure I totally get it, but I was pretty excited when I heard the tinkle!  And of course, the marshmallows helped!
I woke up in the middle of the night once because of a storm.  Mommy came in and we snuggled.  I learned all about "sunna" (thunder) in the sky and that it went "bye-bye".  I sure was crabby the next day though!  My new cold and fever may have had something to do with that though.
Other words I say "applesauce' (very well enunciated, because it is my favorite thing to eat besides "cheese"!  I also say "wa-doo" (water), "mine" (I say this a lot!), "yucky" (this is also a new one with food, even if I like it), and I say "uk-oo" (thank you).  I think this one is Mommy and Daddy's favorite!

1 Year, 9 1/2 Months...A Little Bit of Everything!

I had two successes on the potty chair recently (first #2 and then #1!)  I'm really just doing it for the marshmallows!  I LOVE them!
Speaking of things I love, I will eat anything!  I always want the lemon out of Mommy's water and I don't even scrunch up my face at the sourness.  I also tried bread and butter pickles, sweet pickles, and black and green olives.  I ate every last one of them.  The only thing I have found that isn't always my favorite is mashed potatoes.  I just love to eat!
We had some good family time over Thanksgiving.  We did a lot of errands together the day before-library, Kohl's, and Slumberland to look for new bedroom furniture for Ellie.  I think that means I may eventually bust out of my crib!  We also went out to Red Lobster and to the Mizzou volleyball game.  I really have a lot of fun watching everything at those games, but it is so close to my bedtime that I don't last long.
We had Thanksgiving on Thursday at Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's, and on Friday at Papa Ron and Nana Carol's.  Saturday, we put up Christmas decorations.  My schedule was so off, I wasn't feeling good, and all the changes going on made me not a happy camper.  I've done better since and love to bat at the "balls" (round ornaments) on the tree.  I beat Twist to breaking the first one!  We had Thanksgiving at Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's on Sunday.
I was pretty cranky the past couple of weeks, but that's because I got sick.  I did the best I could though.  On the way home from Washington, I coughed so much that I puked in my car seat!  It was my first time ever and it upset me.
Since the break, we have been really busy.  We did have a play date at our house, but only Bella was able to make it.  It was a lot calmer with only 3 kids instead of 6!  I really love to chase Ellie (or anyone) around the house.  One night, I ran into the door and have a huge goose egg on my forehead!  Mommy left for a meeting and stayed overnight, so Ellie and I got to hang out with Daddy.  Those are really special times.
I have a funny joke about Daddy.  I like to say "Daddy work" when he is gone, but I have started to say it when he is here.  When people look at me, I say "Nooooo..." in a funny voice, and then say "right there" while pointing to him.  I may let them get it on video someday.
More of my words the past couple of weeks: "cacker" (cracker), "zip", "dark" (when Daddy turned off the lights), "da" (done), "up, down" (a game I like to play with Mommy), "geen, boo" (green, blue), "walk" (when I want to be put down to walk where we are going), and "football".  There really are so many more that it's hard to remember!
I love to color and sometimes I share with my sister!
