9 Years, 10 Months...Holiday fun!

Thanksgiving was great because we spent Thursday at Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's house, Friday at Papa Ron and Linda's (and picked out some earrings at Altemueller's) and then to Uncle Mark's.  It was so cold we decided to skip the parade.  On Saturday, we went to Aunt Lisa's and had fun playing "things".

We have had several events at Church as we are preparing for the McEntyre's to move to South Carolina.  There was a nice reception for them.  We had an Advent-ure pool party inside and I had a blast running around with friends. We also did "hanging of the green" to decorate the hall.

I have been begging Mom to go shopping lately, as my style is changing.  I had a shopping day with Mom and had so much fun at the mall looking at clothes.  I want to go with my friends too.  Ellie has been asking for a kitten and I think Mom and Dad finally wore down.  Mom took us to meet a kitty at Ms. Brooke's house (from school.)  She is so cute and little!  Mom also took me to the Frankenberg Christmas party and I learned a new card game called "Trash".

At school, I have continued with craft club and choir.  We had a fun Duck Day game where 150 ducks were hidden at school for people to find.  I found one and was so excited!  I agreed to do Camp Show Choir at Rock Bridge High School.  I was hesitant to go, but ended up enjoying my time with Spencer who was also there.  We learned a dance to perform for parents, and Mom and Dad were very impressed with my dancing skills!  Afterward, our whole family went to Aaron's to hang out.  I had a lot of fun with a girl they were baby-sitting named River.  We played Uno with Ellie and Aaron while the adults watched volleyball.

We have had some school celebrations too.  We went to Ellie's volleyball banquet at Battle High School.  She earned her varsity letter, and I got to eat Mexican food!  We also had our choir concert.  I sang 5 songs with 4th grade and 5 more with choir.  I was very proud of our performance that we had worked hard on.

Our family was set to go to Ellie's first volleyball tournament early on December 16th.  I woke Mom and Dad up around 1:00 AM because my throat was hurting.  Dad and I stayed behind and found out I had strep throat!  I missed the tournament and the Church Christmas dinner, but worst of all, the medicine that I had to take twice a day for 10 days tastes HORRIBLE!

Luckily, I was able to go back to school for our last three days of fun before winter break.  We had a movie in the gym and our winter party in our classroom.  I am ready for Christmas and Santa!

9 years, 9 months...Getting older

This month, Mom took me to go shopping at Wal-Mart and I enjoyed getting to look around.  I am starting to expand my horizons on what I like.

I have had craft club on Monday afternoons this month after school.  We made a small apron, and I chose Harry Potter fabric.  It turned out really cool!  I am also doing choir on Thursday mornings.  I wasn't able to go to EEE one week because the teachers were all at a conference.  We didn't have school for 2 days and I spent those days with Ellie at home. Nana Arden came the second day to give us McDonald's. Dad took me to a "soccer kick around" to see if I would be interested in doing a club soccer team.  I hung with them pretty well.

I went to Jose's birthday party (from my soccer team) at the ARC and got to go swimming.  Mom, Dad, and I went to our Church's Fall Fun Fest.  I was super cold, windy, and rainy.  We got to play Top golf and then ate ice cream.  Mom decorated Dad's car as Cookie Monster (but didn't win the contest.)

Our class had a Halloween party and Mom got to make an appearance. Emerson and Westley and families came over to our house for Halloween. It was so nice to have my friends over for a change.  We ran to each house like we were going to run out of time.  I went as a sorceress and brought my Harry Potter wand.  Unfortunately, it fell out of my pumpkin and I ended up losing it.  Good thing I got a ton of candy to make up for it!

Mom and Dad went to their annual conference for three days, and Papa Ron and Linda came to stay with us!  We went to the Mizzou volleyball game and ate potato soup when we got home.  My stomach started hurting, so Linda stayed with me by the bathroom for a while.  She also read to me before bed.  After they picked Ellie up from school and me up from craft club, we went out to Olive Garden!  I love going to eat there!

I was happy that Mom and Dad came back but Mom was busy with meetings that week so I didn't get to see a lot of her.  She and Dad went to my parent teacher conference, but Mrs. Sexton just wanted to talk with parents for this one.  (I think she told them good things about me!)  Mom was off work that Friday so we got to hang out.  We went over to Miss Amanda's house and I got to have fun outside with Kyrie and Dean.

I also got to go to Avonlea's birthday party.  It was Taylor Swift themed and really cool, but I wasn't feeling all that great and didn't participate in much.  In fact, my stomach seems to hurt almost every day.

Our church celebrated our 200th year.  We took a picture of all the members afterward and then went to a nice luncheon.  I got to have chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese and then continued to eat the grown up food.  I think I am having a growth spurt!  I also got to go up to the front of the church to watch three baptisms the next week.

We had our EEE Learning Fair and Mom got to come.  My class was Geography and World Cartography.  I made a map of a new continent named Mythica, complete with its own currency, imports and exports, and climates.

I ended up staying home one Monday because I still wasn't feeling well.  Mom and Dad were also sick that weekend.  Mom came home to check on me and Ellie texted her because she was sick.  We both relaxed at home while Mom went back to work.

I'm glad I was better the next day because our class was celebrating Camping Day that we earned for our behavior.  We played games, did crafts, and had Smores while hanging out in tents for the day.  Can't wait for a 5 day break and Thanksgiving!

9 Years, 8 Months...Lots of soccer!

This month was full of soccer!  I got MVP at one of my soccer practices! Nana Arden and Papa Rodney brought me to Ellie's game at Hickman after practice and ice cream.  They actually picked me up three times from practice, and of course had ice cream before going to Ellie's game.  I have been playing defense and mid-field in my soccer games. Papa Ron and Linda came to one of my soccer games and we went out to Cheddar's with them (my choice!)  I played against Emerson and Westley's team that day. We were so excited to see each other again that we had them over to play the next day!  Ellie even came to a couple of my soccer games! My last soccer game was rainy.  The boys have been mean to me this season, saying they need to go easy on me because I'm a girl.  During the last game, one said I should just leave the team.  It made it hard to want to keep playing.  Mom asked the coach if it was a good idea for me to continue with this team in the spring, and she had no idea the problems I was having.  Her son Tyler called me to apologize and said he was just kidding.

I had several get togethers with friends this month.  I got to go to Autumn's and hang out one afternoon.  Avonlea came over here another afternoon and we used our creativity to make a flower design.  I chose not to go to MU soccer game even though I say that I love soccer.  Our family went to Alex's birthday party as well.

I really only want to play video games on my iPad and it is hard to get me to do anything else.  Mom took me to Hot Topic at the mall to pick up and pick out more Meowchi's.  These are the cat stuffed animals that we play with at school (that ends up causing jealous problems.) Dad tried to get me to do other things and I started playing basketball with him.  Now I ask if I can "shoot two hoops" often when the weather is nice.  It was also Athena's 3rd birthday!

I joined choir at school and have practice before school on Thursdays. We also had the Monster Mash inside at school on Friday the 13th.  It was too windy to have outside.  I ate with mom and played a couple of games, but then she had to work so I went around with my friends.  I shared a lot of my tickets with them.

We had Church on the lawn one Sunday, and I got to bring up the offering at Church in combined service another Sunday.  Pastor Carol and Pastor Mike are leaving to go to South Carolina so we won't have them much longer.

Our family went to the MU homecoming parade and I enjoyed the floats a lot.  We also went to the library and picked out some good books. I had the option but chose to not go to Neha's birthday party.

We have a lot of holidays coming up and lots more fun!
