17 Months...Summer fun and giggles!

This has been a really fun family couple of weeks.  I think I could get used to the whole family being together!
Mommy took Ellie and me to B&B Bagel one morning for our free bagel for miles exercised, and then to Barnes and Noble for Ellie completing her summer reading there.  I got a Frozen book too that I didn't want to give up, even though there was a Minion book.  I was really tired and threw an epic fit in Barnes and Noble and Mommy had to run after me in the check out line, and hold me while I was thrashing during check out.  I really was just tired and did the best I could.  I was much better once I got my nap!
I have been throwing everyone off with my sleep lately.  Some days, I don't nap until 11:00 and then sleep for over 2 hours and struggle with a second nap.  Or I won't take a second nap at all!  Other times, I am tired by 9:30 and take two one-hour naps.  It makes it hard to really plan anything, but sometimes it is easier to know that I can make it longer without a nap.
We went over to Aunt Lisa's to play with my cousins one day and I got really excited and actually jumped with both feet off the ground!  Aunt Michele visited from Maryland the next day and I enjoyed seeing her again.  Our family went to Fazoli's and Orange Leaf that night.  I enjoy crawling under the chairs at Orange Leaf, and the frozen yogurt isn't bad either! We brought Shakespeare's Pizza over to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's house one night.  I really like it over there!
Mommy took Emily and me up to Kirksville to see Stacey, Ryan, Jaxson, and Harrison one Sunday.  We had a lot of fun in the bounce house in their basement.  I also just liked watching everyone else play!
I got to do some more swimming lately too!  We went with Aunt Lisa and my cousins to the pool one day, and I played a little in the water, but mostly just tried to run away from Mommy and eat animal crackers!  We went to Brynn's brother Blake's birthday party at Little Mate's Cove.  I really enjoyed going down the slides there.  We also got to start our play dates again on Tuesday nights!
Mommy spent a lot of time getting ready for a garage sale and got rid of some of my old baby stuff.  I think that was really hard for her to get rid of it, but I really just wanted her to hold me the whole time.  I let out some loud screams when I couldn't get to her.  It may be hard to separate in a few weeks!
Mommy took Ellie and me to visit Great Grandma Rose one Sunday for a family get together.  It was really nice to see family that I haven't seen in a long time.  They couldn't believe how much I had grown and how funny I was!
I have figured out how to open internal doors now, so nothing is safe!  My favorite door to open is Ellie's, because I love all the doggie stuff and Frozen stuff she has in there.  Anytime her door opens, I start panting!  I also figured out how to do somersaults.  I am so proud of myself when I do them!
I like to know where people and things go, and often put my hands out and say, "Ish?" to ask where someone/thing has gone.  I also say "buck-o" or "goo-go" for any character that I recognize.  "Goo-go" tends to be reserved for Elmo.  I also say something that sounds like "Dat is ist" and Daddy thinks I am saying "That is Twist", but I'm not ready to tell yet!

16 1/2 Months...Summer for everyone!!!

We did some fun stuff  the last couple of weeks.  We went to the library again.  I love playing there!  Ellie and I had play date at Brynn's house.  The other kids all went in the swimming pool and all I wanted to do was climb the deck stairs. I had a fun play date at Autumn's house too.  She and I insisted on sitting on the same ottoman even though there was plenty of room on the floor.  We also liked playing with the Cheerios, regardless of all the toys that were around.  Bella was here for an all day play date with Ellie, and we all went to the pool one day!  That was so much fun playing in all the water and getting splashed and climbing up the stairs to the slide.  Mommy wouldn't let me go down for some reason.  Too bad there were no pictures!
Mommy went to a conference for a couple of days and Nana Arden came to stay with me.  We had a lot of fun!  She also stayed with me when Mommy and Daddy had a meeting.  I liked to knock on the door and have Nana Arden tell me to come in.
We all went to Washington for the Frankenberg Fest.  It was a lot of fun playing with Mommy's cousins' kids.  I really liked going down the baby slide and riding on the small teeter-totter.  I wish we had gotten pictures of this day too!
We hosted a really fun 4th of July party at our house.  So many people came, including Nana Arden and Papa Rodney and all my cousins!  I think there was some stuff that happened outside after I went to bed, but I was too tired to even notice!
I started swimming lessons too!  I wasn't too sure at the first lesson.  That water was really really cold!  I screamed for about the first 15 minutes until I got interested in the balls and the blue and white flags hanging above me.  Lessons have gotten better since, but they sure are tiring!
Things are a little different at our house.  Both Daddy and Ellie are home from school for a while.  My days with just Mommy are numbered.  I am also only nursing at morning and night now.  I never was one who needed that, but it is hard to give it up for both of us!  I miss those times, but it is nice to have the family all together.
I am now in size 4 diapers!  I'm getting to be so big!  My words are also starting to become familiar.  It is really hard for me to get the right sounds out, even though I know what the word is.  I do say "mama" (only when bribed), "go" (when I see a Cardinal or a banana), "dada", and can repeat "cat" sometimes.  I also say "doe, doe, doe" when I see a Dora!
I have really started to take longer naps, usually 2 2-hour naps a day.  For a while, I was sleeping 16 hours a day.  Then, we realized I had a fever and a little diarrhea.  Good thing it was a fast virus!  However, the long naps and sleeping in have stayed.  I think part of that is because those later swimming lessons are wearing me out!
Just me and my pacifier-not ready to give those up yet!
Getting in for a closer look
