2 Years, 10 Months...Doing things all by myself!

I had a great Thanksgiving!  Four parties in four days (preschool, Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's, Papa Ron and Nana Carol's, and Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's.)  While in Washington, I got my first hair cut!  It's not that long, but it was getting in my eyes a lot.  I sat really still even though I wanted to cut my hair myself!  We also went to the holiday parade.  I loved seeing all the lights in the parade.  When one kid wouldn't give the ECC mascot a hug, I ran up to him and hugged him!  I usually like giving hugs!
The next day, we put up the Christmas decorations.  I really liked seeing all the ornaments and of course, wanted to hang them all by myself.  Only one broke so far.  I got to put up my own little tree in my room (which I always want to plug in by myself!)  That night, our Elf Elmo came.  It took me a while to really understand what this Christmas thing is all about, but Ellie is really excited about it, so it can't be that bad!
St. Nicholas came and left some stuff in my stocking!  That was really cool and I got so excited about everything.  I got a new Marshall (Paw Patrol) toothbrush and screamed out, "I'm so happy!"
I have had some yucky viruses this month.  One afternoon, Mommy could tell I wasn't quite myself when she picked me up.  I was really whiny and my eyes just didn't look right.  Sure enough, I had 102.5 when I got home.  That fever went away quickly, but a week and a half later, I had another fever.  This one got up to 105.3 one night and it lasted 4 days.  It didn't break very often, even on medicine.  Nana Arden, Daddy, and Mommy took turns staying home with me.  Daddy took me to the doctor (Dr. Prica wasn't available) and the strep and flu tests were negative.  Mommy was worried about me and got another appointment, this time with Dr. Prica.  By then, my fever was gone and I was given a clean bill of health.  And now, I am working on a yucky head cold.  Good thing I have a high pain tolerance, but this sick thing is for the birds!
Ellie talked Mommy and Daddy to going to the mall one night to hear the school choir sing.  When we were there, we got to eat Subway, ride the carousel, and get balloon animals.  How much fun!  I also got to go to Ellie's school holiday concert.  I enjoyed seeing all the kids, but it was about 15 minutes too long/late.  I had a nice meltdown and I was screaming as Mommy carried me out.  I don't know what she was so embarrassed about!
We had a crazy ice storm last Friday and Daddy came to get me early.  I had to be woken up from my nap and it took hours to get home.  I didn't even see Ellie and Mommy that night because they were stuck at school until really late.  We stayed around home over the weekend because of the roads and cold temperature.  We also all had a snow day on Monday!
Today, Nana Arden and Ellen came by to visit.  Ellen brought presents for me and Ellie.  She gave me a Super Girl tshirt.  I was so excited and swung it around!  I also got Starburst.  I don't even know what that is, but I know it's gonna be good!
I am getting a little better at this potty training thing, with the exception of when I was sick.  I usually have one accident a day on average.  I do a lot better at school than at home.  A lot of times, I tell Mommy I don't want to go and to just put a diaper on, even though I love my Dora underwear!  I can almost always go when I am put on the potty chair, but I'm not always good at putting myself there!
We have had a few play dates this month and I like hanging out with Ellie and her friends, even if they don't like it as much.  I really love putting puzzles together and can do the 25 piece puzzles by myself.  I'm really proud of myself when I do.  I am really into Rudoph lately too.  I like to watch the movie, and also have the book read to me often.  I haven't seen Charlie Brown's Christmas yet, but I did call his dog "Scoopy!"  I want everything to be red because it is my favorite color.  Ariel is even my favorite princess because of her red hair.

2 3/4 Years Old...Super Girl Super Fun!

This has been a very busy and confusing month!  I have been staying home with Daddy a lot while Mommy and Ellie go out to do other things.  I know they are leaving me out of fun stuff!
Our whole family did go to the Mizzou homecoming parade and I wasn't quite sure I understood why we were sitting on the sidewalk while all the people and vehicles went past us.  I was more comfortable snuggling in the chair with Daddy because it was COLD!  Well, later that night I ended up having a 104.4 degree fever!  Mommy and Daddy were pretty worried, but I was just really tired.  I got to spend a day home with Mommy, but I was feeling better then.  Do you know what she did?  She took me to get a flu shot!  That didn't seem fair, but I took it like a champ.  I didn't quite know what was going on and it hurt, but it was over so fast, I didn't have time to cry!
I went to the chili supper/costume contest/pumpkin raffle at Mommy and Ellie's school.  I had a lot of fun dressing up as Super Girl for the first time this month!  I even won a Dory pumpkin!
Papa Ron and Nana Carol came for a fun visit.  I have missed seeing them.  We went out to eat and then to Orange Leaf!  I wish I didn't like my afternoon naps so much or I would have spent more time playing with them.
Halloween was such a blast!  It started off with the Halloween party and parade at preschool.  I was enjoying my treats so much I wasn't ready to go outside for the parade!  I cried so hard, but Maren (the 4s and 5s teacher) picked me up and carried me in the parade.  By the end, I had so much fun that I was the only one walking around!  After the parade, we went to visit Mr. Kenny, Miss Rachel, our neighbors Bryan and Cindy and Heather and Brad, then over to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's, and finally to Carrie's house!  I was so well behaved the whole time.  Mommy was super impressed!  We walked all around her neighborhood and I was having the time of my life trying to keep up with the older girls.  The other moms thought I was so funny.  Miss Jayne said that I was like a drunk college student, whatever that means!  At one point, I think I was talking in tongues!  I knew when I was done though.  I started asking to go home.  I was very patient and Mommy carried me the last block back to the house.  Not sure how it happened, but I peed on her!  The perfect ending to the night!
I got to go to a few of Ellie's soccer games and discovered that there is a playground there so that is my favorite thing to do instead of staying up by the game.  I also discovered that there is a junk yard with smashed cars near Ellie's school and I am just fascinated by that!  I love to point out gas stations and parks too.  You can often hear me yelling, "There's a gas station!" from the backseat.
I really like to talk through things and explain things in detail.  For instance, I was trying to figure out the color to the candy corn so I said, "This part is white and I think this part is red...yeah, it's red."  OK, so I know it was orange, but red is now my favorite color!
One really strange thing was that Mommy left one Saturday and Daddy left the next day and they didn't come back until Tuesday!  Nana Arden stayed with Ellie and me at the house and we had a really good time.  Can't say I missed them that much.
Now that it is close to Thanksgiving, I see all these "chickens" (turkeys) around.  No matter what anyone says, I swear they are chickens!  I decided that I don't like popcorn and preschool has "popcorn Fridays" in the morning.  I like to sit around the table with the other kids though, but I prefer my usual frozen squeeze yogurts.  Instead of popcorn Fridays, I call them "yogurt Fridays!"
We did family pictures with Daddy's family this month too.  I got a new red dress for the pictures and I feel pretty special.  I normally will only wear character shirts.  (I think Mommy and Daddy are cracking down on giving me my way all the time though!)  After pictures, we went out to eat Shakespeare's pizza.  I ate 2 whole slices!
Another crazy exciting thing happened...I got to wear big girl underwear!   I love to pick out the My Little Pony underwear in the morning and then my princess underwear at school after I have an accident.  However, they started the three strikes and you're out rule.  If I have three accidents, I am back in my diapers.  I don't like that very much.  I am really good at using the potty chair when someone puts me there, but not as good at telling when I have to go before I go. But today, I only had one accident at school.  (Two at home, but who's counting?)  I'm sure I will get used to it soon enough.  Until then, I get to wear and assortment of underwear!
