8 Years, 10 Months...I need some down time!

We had a great Thanksgiving!  We went to Washington and spent the first day at Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom’s.  I talked with Tom a lot about Pokemon, but also just wanted to hang out in a quiet room and read.  We spent the night and went to Papa Ron and Linda’s the next morning.  Papa Ron took Ellie and me to Altemueller’s to pick out charms for our bracelets.  He was paying for the one I chose out when I found a Harry Potter charm.  I told him that the one I chose was ok because returning it would be too much work.  Our family went to have dinner at Uncle Mark and Aunt Julie’s.  I had fun playing with Chase, and it had been a long time since we had been there.  Our family went to the parade with Papa Ron and Linda afterward and headed home later that night.  We had Thanksgiving pizza at Papa Rodney’s shop.  It was an unusual time, but at least we were together.  We decorated our house for Christmas that weekend.

Our family was asked to read and light the first Advent candle.  I really wanted to light the candle, so Dad helped lighting the candlelighter.  I felt very special.

I haven’t really wanted to do much this month. I just want to stay home and play on my iPad.  A lot of times I have to have it taken away from me so I will participate in activities.  For instance, Mom was going to go to the Frankenberg Christmas and Dad and Ellie had to stay behind for volleyball.  I just decided I didn’t want to go, and they didn’t argue with me.

Christmas activities are picking up!  Our family went to the VU Christmas light display.  We tried the night before, but it was cancelled because of rain.  We went to Bass Pro to see Santa instead.  He was funny and I told him that I wanted a package of Among Us small stuffies and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.  When we were leaving I felt in love with a little stuffed animal dog.  I cried the whole way home because I was worried that he would be lonely without me.  Our family also went to my Christmas concert at Cedar Ridge.  I get nervous to sing in front of people but Mom and Dad said this was part of my class and I needed to go.  It was a good time!  Our family went to Ellie’s Reader’s Theatre for her drama class.  They performed Elf and it was pretty funny.

Ellie had a volleyball party here and I asked for Avonlea to come over and play.  We had so much fun making melty beads.  We made one circle with half her favorite colors and half my favorite colors.  I have been making a lot of melty beads lately (when I can’t be on my screen!)

Our class won a blanket/fort party for our behavior.  I had a blast reading in the forts.  Today was our last day of school before Christmas break.  We had a party, and I had a lot of sugar and was hyper!  I can’t wait for Christmas and presents!

8 Years, 9 Months..Lots of activities!

Our school had the Monster Mash and I loved playing all the games outside and watching Mom get pies thrown in her face.  I dressed as Harry Potter.  Our family went to the MU Homecoming parade and I enjoyed looking at all the floats and getting lots of can

I had Sally over to play one day.  We get along just fine when screens aren’t involved.  We are both creative and love to come up with new games to play.  Our school had a spirit week and I participated in the stuffed animal and PJ day.

Our Church had Fall Fun Fest at Midway Golf and Games.  We played different games and did trunk or treat.  It was a very rainy day, but I enjoyed the ice cream at the end!  We went to Papa Rodney and Nana Arden’s before and hung out with them.

We had a Halloween party at school.  One of the games involved straws that whistled really loud.  That got thrown away quickly!  I dressed up as Harry Potter and went trick or treating with Mom and couldn’t wait to hand out candy when we got back.  I got so excited it was hard to calm down at bedtime.

Mom and Dad went to their annual school counseling conference and Grandma Kathy stayed with us.  It was so nice to have her here.  We didn’t have school, so we got to hang out more than usual.  Grandma Kathy took us to Schnucks, and we got donuts!

Mom and Dad came to my parent teacher conference with Mrs. Cassidy.  She said I am doing well in all areas.  It seems like all students are a little behind in math, but I have a good number sense, so it is not a worry.  I am doing better about keeping quiet when I need to and do well with just a reminder.

I didn’t want to, but Mom took me to a Mizzou volleyball game just to get Mizzou jibbitz for our Crocs.  We didn’t even get to see the first serve because it was time to get Ellie from volleyball practice.  (I ended up losing my jibbitz.)

We had our Learning Fair at EEE.  Mom was able to come, and I got to show off my Da Vinci work.  I was really proud of my birdwing drawing.  Our 3rd grade class was going to the Symphony for a field trip that day, so Sheil’s mom and my mom drove us there.  It was a long concert, but I enjoyed it.  I was glad to be back with my class.

I was so surprised when Sally and her mom invited me to go to Great Wolf Lodge with them!  Her dad was supposed to go but couldn’t, so she asked me!  I had been there when I was really little, but I don’t remember it.  I had so much fun on the big slides, but Sally was scared.  I spent time back and forth, going down the slides with Mom and playing with Sally.  There were so many other fun things there-scavenger hunts, snow dances, trivia, and the Magi Quest!  Sally and I ran around with wands trying to complete our quests.  Of course, this ended in an argument, but we finished the quests that were working!  It was such a good time and I have been asking to go back ever since!
