16 Months...Twist is here!

Ellie went back to summer school, so Mommy and I have some more alone time.  I like being with her, but I really like when other kids are around, especially my sister!  Mommy took me to an appointment and a meeting.  I had to skip my nap for the meeting and I just wanted to climb the stairs the whole time.  I'm not sure Mommy understood much of what happened at the meeting.
Mommy took me to a Parents as Teachers screening.  The evaluator was amazed at my motor abilities!  She wasn't too concerned that I wasn't talking yet, but wants to watch it and if I don't start saying what I want to say, I can come back.  She also wants Mommy to let me start using a spoon when I am eating and a marker for coloring.  Yippee!  Imagine all the messes I can make now!  I also went to a hearing and vision screening the next day and there are no concerns.
We went to Nana Arden's twice and got to play in the sprinklers.  I absolutely loved it!!!  They got out the water guns and that was a lot of fun too.  I even figured out where they went to fill them up.  We played in the sprinklers and pool at Ellie's friend Bella's house too.  We played in the rain when the play date was at our house!  We also went to Camille's birthday party.
Mommy, Daddy, and Ellie went to a Cardinals game and I got to stay with Grandma Kathy.  I had a lot of fun with her and played with different toys.  I showed her that I know Itsy Bitsy Spider and that I love to be on the go!
I had a toddler night one night.  When Mommy was getting us ready for a bath, I pooped and dug it out of my diaper and smeared it on my face.  After Mommy got that cleaned up and was getting Ellie ready, I threw a book in the bathtub.  Then, after my bath, I peed on the bathroom floor.  You should have seen the look on Mommy's face after all that!
We went to Washington for Father's Day.  We got to see Papa Ron and Nana Carol's new house.  I had fun playing downstairs with the toys, but I really liked showing them how much I liked to climb the stairs and stand on chairs and just how active I really am!  I was pretty tired at Grandma Kathy's, but sat for a long time in high chair just eating!  Uncle Jeff fed me a little bit of ice cream and I think he is now my favorite person!
The biggest news is that Twist came home!  It is so fun having a kitty at our house!  I thought he was really funny at first and we chased each other around.  Then, I got annoyed with him for always being in my way when I was playing and started shoving him away.  Now, I get excited to pick him up by his fur, usually upside down.  I don't get to be alone with him much anymore!

15 1/2 Months...Changes are a coming!

Ellie has been home for about a week before she goes to summer school.  It has been a lot of fun having her home.  I love to play and laugh with her, and I think she really loves me too.  We brought her Subway at school one last time as a kindergartener and even got to play with her outside at the park.  All the other kids loved me!
We went to the library a couple of times.  I really like to play with the toys and books there.  I also got to go to Orange Leaf a couple of times.  The yogurt was good, but I really loved just walking around, hamming it up with the other customers.  We have also done a few more soccer practices/play dates with Ellie's friends.  I love being around other kids, but sometimes I just want Mommy to hold me.  We went to a fun place called Tiger Bounce.  I really liked the little kid area.  I'm not much for the bouncing, but I loved the climbing and crawling!
I can climb up onto the couch all by myself now with no help from anything or anyone!  I really like to stand up and bounce then.  Mommy has mentioned having a heart attack, but I don't know what she is talking about.  It's fun!  I am also learned how to color, and it is always with my left hand.  It is a little early to know which hand I will use, but maybe I will be a south paw like my sister!  I love giving high 5's too!
I am still not talking much.  I can sometimes say "dada" and I say "baba" instead of mama.  Sometimes when Mommy says banana, I say "go, go" like the song she sings.
We visited a really nice lady named Bruna and Mommy and Daddy decided I would be going to her house next year while Mommy goes back to work.  I liked her place a lot, but I know it is going to be hard separating from Mommy!  I think she is going to have a hard time too though.
We made a quick trip to Washington for my Great great uncle Ralph's funeral.  It was really nice to see a lot of family members.  I was really good considering I was in the car for almost two hours and then had to be quiet in church for another hour with no nap!  I really had fun just walking around the hall after the funeral.  I think people there thought I was cute too.
We got to go to the Humane Society and even picked out a kitten!  His name is Twist and he is buff and white.  We have to wait until he weighs 2 pounds before they can do his surgery and we can get him.  I love kitties and can't wait to have him at home!
I was a hit at recess!
