13 Months...Spring is here!

The weather has been so nice so we have been able to go outside more lately.  I was able to take my car outside and ride in it and Ellie got a new bike.  I was really excited about her old bike because it has princesses on it.  I hear it may be mine someday!  We even had our pictures taken by Marion at Shelter Gardens (my 1 year and Ellie's 6 year.)  It is really hard to catch me smiling on camera, even though I smile all the time.  I'm tricky like that!
I helped in the workroom for the first time as a walker and boy, I was walking everywhere!  We were able to walk with Marion and Autumn several times the last couple of weeks, and once we were able to go outside to walk!
Mommy and Daddy went out for their anniversary and Nana Arden came over to watch us.  I cried a little after they left, but had a good time after that.
I started getting really cranky lately, and I want Mommy to hold me all the time.  I am fine when she isn't near, but as soon as she comes in the room, I start crying for her to pick me up.  I'm not satisfied with sitting in her lap either.  She has to be standing.  I try to yank up on her if she doesn't get up.  I have a feeling my free ride is going to denied very soon.
I think Mommy was trying to see if I was ready to drop my morning nap because she tried to keep me up before lunch.  I did great and had a lot of fun, but my afternoon naps were pretty short on those days.  I really like my 2 45 minute naps every day for now.  One of those days, I went with Mommy to get her car serviced.  She said my behavior was great, and I really liked to be social with everyone there.  We also got to eat lunch with Ellie at school that day.  Then today, we had dinner at Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's.  I got to hang out with my cousins.
I love to be silly and walk around all over the place and chase Ellie.  I make a lot of funny faces too!

12 1/2 Months...Birthday Celebrations!

We got to celebrate my birthday after ice forced us to move the party to Sunday.  It was a Frozen-themed party with food inspired by the movie.  Ellie and I were like Elsa and Anna.  It was so much fun!  I loved having our family here to celebrate with us!
I wasn't too interested in opening presents, but a little more than I was at Christmas.  My favorite part was carrying around the cards.  I wasn't sure what to do with the cake at first because it didn't look like food.  Once I put my fingers in the icing and Daddy said it was OK, I thought it was pretty yummy!  I was a little overwhelmed by everyone watching me.  Daddy tried to feed me with a fork-silly Daddy!  The hands are the only way to go!  When I was done though, I was done!  I swung my arms and got it all over the place.
I had my 12 month doctor's appointment and he said I was a very healthy, growing girl.  I am 20 lbs., 13 oz. and 30.5 inches.  He was amazed at how I just walked all over the room, and said that was unusual for a child my age to be that inquisitive.  That's me!  I got 4 shots too, and that wasn't a lot of fun.  While we were waiting, I kept pointing to the door.  I was pretty cranky afterward, and Mommy gave me some medicine mixed with applesauce.  That went down a lot better.
We had some more snow too, which meant Daddy and Ellie had some more time at home with us.  Daddy and I even had a fun day at home while Mommy and Ellie went to St. Louis one day!  I also went to Ellie's conference at school, helped in the workroom, and went to HyVee and Michaels and Kohl's.  Mommy went to curriculum writing for two days.  The first day, Nana Arden stayed at the house with me.  We had so much fun.  I especially liked to watch a truck working out our back window.  I didn't take my nap until the worker was finished.  The second day, I got to go to Mr. Kenny's house!  It was so good to be back there.  I loved seeing him and chasing the dogs.  I think he enjoyed my company too.  That day was Grandparents Day at Ellie's school, so Nana Arden and Grandma Kathy came back to our house for a little bit afterwards.
It's also finally nice outside so I got to walk like a big girl outside for the first time ever!  I even have some new shoes!
Some of my new tricks-clapping, throwing toys downstairs, and shaking my head "yes".  I absolutely LOVE books!!!  I am really starting to understand what people are saying and asking me to do.
I'm really just a happy little girl!
