I wasn't too interested in opening presents, but a little more than I was at Christmas. My favorite part was carrying around the cards. I wasn't sure what to do with the cake at first because it didn't look like food. Once I put my fingers in the icing and Daddy said it was OK, I thought it was pretty yummy! I was a little overwhelmed by everyone watching me. Daddy tried to feed me with a fork-silly Daddy! The hands are the only way to go! When I was done though, I was done! I swung my arms and got it all over the place.
I had my 12 month doctor's appointment and he said I was a very healthy, growing girl. I am 20 lbs., 13 oz. and 30.5 inches. He was amazed at how I just walked all over the room, and said that was unusual for a child my age to be that inquisitive. That's me! I got 4 shots too, and that wasn't a lot of fun. While we were waiting, I kept pointing to the door. I was pretty cranky afterward, and Mommy gave me some medicine mixed with applesauce. That went down a lot better.
We had some more snow too, which meant Daddy and Ellie had some more time at home with us. Daddy and I even had a fun day at home while Mommy and Ellie went to St. Louis one day! I also went to Ellie's conference at school, helped in the workroom, and went to HyVee and Michaels and Kohl's. Mommy went to curriculum writing for two days. The first day, Nana Arden stayed at the house with me. We had so much fun. I especially liked to watch a truck working out our back window. I didn't take my nap until the worker was finished. The second day, I got to go to Mr. Kenny's house! It was so good to be back there. I loved seeing him and chasing the dogs. I think he enjoyed my company too. That day was Grandparents Day at Ellie's school, so Nana Arden and Grandma Kathy came back to our house for a little bit afterwards.
It's also finally nice outside so I got to walk like a big girl outside for the first time ever! I even have some new shoes!
Some of my new tricks-clapping, throwing toys downstairs, and shaking my head "yes". I absolutely LOVE books!!! I am really starting to understand what people are saying and asking me to do.
I'm really just a happy little girl!
