I finished the end of first grade with lots of tears. I was so incredibly sad to leave Miss Maude. She has been the best teacher ever! Here was the end of our ABC countdown: S-illy socks, T-oy, U-nder the table, V-acation, W-atercolor, X-change yearbooks, Y-ear end party, Z-oom in. Miss Maude flipped our tables upside down for under the table day and we had so much fun working like that. She arranged for parents to "zoom in" and read to us on the last day. Dad read a Weird Al book called "When I Grow Up" and it was really funny. We had extra special days built in like PJ day, hat day, CRE spirit wear day, and athletic day. We had a field day which was a lot of fun. We went to different stations and did different activities. After the first one, mom got to be in charge of the activities. Some were water games, and it was a cold day!
The weekend after school got out, I went to Amelia's birthday party at Flipz. It was so good to see her. I really miss playing Minecraft with her. Mom has also taken me to the park a couple of times for Pokemon Go and to just play. I also started soccer! I am really enjoying the practices and have made new friends who like Pokemon and Minecraft. I have gotten a lot better at soccer too than my first season.
Ellie started to do youth group at Lillian's church, so I went to church with Mom and really enjoyed it. I was a pretty good listener and liked the activities they had for kids. I even decided to stay after for the kid's lesson with Lillian. I went with Mom to pick Ellie up one night after Pokemon raid night and they were riding Go Karts. I got to ride on one with Mom and giggled the whole time!
We have also had a lot of family fun this month. We had a family get together with Dad's family over here for Memorial Day. Mom and I also went strawberry picking one afternoon and got lots of strawberries! Papa Rick and Nana Peggy came into town so we were able to get together with them a lot. They came to one of my soccer games, went to the zoo with us, came over here for dinner and games, and we went over to Aunt Lisa's (even though they weren't there) for dinner. We went to Papa Rodney's new shop for Camille's birthday party and Jonathan's going away party. He is leaving for Stanford in California for 5 years. For Father's Day, we celebrated Dad at home in the morning and then headed to Washington. We visited with Papa Ron and played a lot of card games with him. I liked being on his "team." We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's and got to hang out with our cousins. It was a really fun and fast day.
I also started summer school, and I love it! I love my teacher Mrs. Carey, I love my new friends, I love learning about Authors as Artists! I can't wait to see what next week will bring!
