10 Years, 9 Months Old...Ups and downs

More to come...

We had some fun stuff happen this month at school.  Our whole school read The Wild Robot, and then we got to go to see the movie.  I had my last Monster Mash and went with Mom but spent time with friends.  We had our last Halloween party in elementary school.

I also had fun with my friends.  Savannah and Luna hung out at our house before the Trunk or treat and chili cook-off at Church.  I wanted to just hand out candy at our house for Halloween, but Otto invited me to go with him in his neighborhood.  We had such a great time and did the big candy trading at the end of the night.

We had some family time too.  I went to Ellie's district volleyball games and tried to cheer her on.  I'm just not interested in it.  I somehow missed the flu shot at school, and got it at Hy-Vee with Ellie.  Grandma Kathy came here to be with us while Mom and Dad went to their conference.

The day Mom and Dad got back, we found out that Ellie's boyfriend Deyton had killed himself.  I really didn't know how to feel or how to act and it took me a while to talk.  I was first worried that Ellie would do the same, but she reassured me that I would have to put up with her for a long, long time.  Then I worried that Ellie will never be the same.  She is just very sad and I never know how she is going to act.  It is really hard to know how to handle this.  I went to his candlelight vigil and Ellie got to talk about her memories of him.  I also went to his memorial for a little bit, and then went to Nana Arden's for the rest of the time.

I've been trying to do my things even though Ellie is struggling.  I'm reading the Warrior Cats book series which has 92 books in it!  Mom and I are still reading Percy Jackson at night.  I've been going to Choir.  I did get a sore throat and stayed home one day, but luckily it was only one day.

We had our learning Fair at EEE, and Mom and Dad both came!  That has never happened before and I'm so glad Dad could make it.  I taught them all about the Fibonacci sequence and my friend and I played the dice game Tenzi.  Mom and Dad went to my conference at school.  Ms. White had a lot of good things to say about me.  I also got Advanced on both MAP tests from last year!

Papa Rick and Nana Peggy came for a visit during everything that was happening with Deyton.  Ellie wasn't up for socialization, and I went to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with them.  I really enjoyed it, but it was hard to not be with my family.   Mom and Dad and I went with them to Olive Garden and I really enjoyed my food.  We had another family dinner and games with Aunt Lisa's family.

10 Years, 8 Months...How many days in a row can I be sick?

More to come...

Our team had a soccer game and a soccer practice and little did I know that was the last ones I would really go to this season.  Our family (minus Ellie) went to Alex's birthday party.  We had a day off from school and mom still had to go.  It was on a Monday, so Dad was home.

I didn't feel well at school one day, but had no fever so I had to stay.  I ended up getting a fever at night. Dad and Dom took turns staying home with me.  My fever lasted for 8 days!  No strep, no flu, no Covid, no pneumonia-just some virus. I laid on the couch the whole time and read and watched Harry Potter. I didn't feel like doing anything.

I thought I was feeling better the day I was supposed to go to Ellie's game in Union and then spend 4 my 4 days with Grandma Kathy.  I got to the game and got very chilled and laid on the bleachers with my blanket.  I decided to stay with Grandma Kathy, but other than playing cards and some screen time with my friends, I didn't feel like doing much.  It was even a struggle to go to Orange Leaf!

Mom picked me up on Saturday morning and I had been fever free for about 24 hours.  I was determined to go to my soccer game.  The coach even put me in for a while, but I got to exhausted, I came out.  I was well enough to go to Savannah's birthday party at the Grandma's Place break out room.  It was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends that I hadn't seen in over a week.

I was able to go back to school and was Star of the Week in my class.  Mom helped me make a poster with pictures of my favorite things and we brought in donuts one day.  I was able to go to soccer practice and did some giggling.  I was so impressed when our coach did a handspring off the soccer ball!  He said he would do it again on Saturday if we won.  Unfortunately, I got sick again and wasn't able to go to the game.  We also won, so he never did the handspring.

On Friday, I had some weird white spots in the back of my throat so mom made an appointment to get it checked out.  I didn't have a fever that morning or when I got there.  They swabbed my nose and throat and it turns out, I had the flu!  Three hours later, my temperature was 104.7! I was so tired of being sick and laying around, but that's all I could do for a while.  I thought I was better and went to Savannah's birthday pumpkin carving party, but came back home with another fever and stayed home with Dad.  I went back to school and have slowly gained my energy back.  I was able to have Luna over after school on Friday and spend the night, but that's about all I could do.  I am really hoping to get more energy soon!

10 Years, 7 Months...School and Soccer

More to come...

I've spent a lot of time with friends this month.  I went over to Savannah's dad's house and we were going to go swimming in the lake. It rained and we couldn't go swimming, so we stayed inside to play with Cole and his friend Wes.  Our family went to Corinne's birthday party.  I also got to play at Otto's house and had a blast!  I have gotten into a new book series called Warrior Cats in addition to Mom reading Percy Jackson to me.

I was supposed to have my first soccer practice but it was cancelled because it was too hot!  We finally got to start practicing, but we only meet once a week. I enjoy playing defense, and we had our first three games. I am #5.  I Everyone is saying that I have improved a lot since the last time I played.  I had a huge cheering squad for my second game-both parents and 6 grandparents were there!  I went to Ellie's first games and was not happy.  I'm just not into volleyball and I really enjoy staying home by myself.

Dad and I stayed home from church with a sore throat, but Luna came over and spent the night into Labor Day.  I was supposed to have a 3 day field trip to the nature school which I was not looking forward to.  I went the first day and chose to go to EEE instead.  I went the third day, but got picked up early because I just didn't feel well.  No fever and my throat looks ok, but I just feel puny.

We had Get the Scoop night at Cedar Ridge.  I played with my friends who were there and ate ice cream before heading to Ellie's volleyball game at Hallsville.  I didn't complain at all that night, but I did have my iPad and a book.  We also had my last Mornings with Misses at school.  Mom ate donuts with me, but we forgot to take pictures!  I started choir again this year even though I said I wouldn't.

10 1/2 Years Old...Getting everything in before 5th grade starts

I've been really worried about Twist.  He has lost a lot of weight since last year and started throwing up.  Mom and Dad took his to have an ultrasound, and then exploratory surgery.  We didn't think he was going to make it through the night, but all of the sudden, he got better!  I'm so happy to have my Twisty back!

Kyrie came over to our house three times this month before she moved to Oklahoma.  She even spent the night one night!  I went to Otto's (late) birthday party at an arcade and Shakespeare's.  I thought the arcade was a lot of fun and have asked to go there for my birthday.  Some of our friends got really loud and I needed some space at the end.  Autumn also came over to our house this month too.

I had swim lessons twice in a day twice to make up for the two weeks we were out of town. Autumn, Yara, and Autumn's friend Ellie went out for Sonic in between two lessons one day. I think I'm doing great swimming, and Corrie thinks I don't need any more lessons!

Ellie had a volleyball tournament in Jefferson City, so Mom and Dad took me to the lake to go shopping.  I enjoyed my special time with Mom and Dad and picking out clothes that I like.  Dad kept picking out stuff that I used to like.  We ate at Wahlburger's in Hy-Vee per my request.  I cleaned out my closet the next day to find room for my new stuff.

VBS was this month too.  I went with Dad Saturday while mom went with Ellie to Kansas City.  Mom took me the next day. We also did Blessings of the Backpacks and I got my new bag tag to "ask questions."  There was a fun pool party for Church and I did a lot of jumping off the diving board.  Westley wanted to swim with me, but he wasn't as strong of a swimmer.  He was struggling in the deep end and I pulled him up.  He said I saved his life!  A couple days later I ended up with ear pain which was an ear infection.  Man, I hate that medicine!

Our family volunteered at the food bank with Otto's family.  Otto and I had fun working together to count how many bags we packed.  Our family also went to Ellie's volleyball pancake fundraiser and we went to Call to Battle.  I got to watch the volleyball game and played a couple of the games.  It was fun to see what high school is all about.  We also enjoyed custard at the Andy's volleyball fundraiser.

Mom and Dad went back to work and Nana Arden came a couple of times to bring us lunch.  Because I stayed here before school, I was able to go to Meet the Teacher night.  Ms. White is my teacher and she is going to be so much fun!  She is tied for the best teacher with Mrs. Sexton.

10 Years, 5 Months...I can now say I've been to Vegas!

Summer school is now over.  I was briefly interested in playing chess because of my games class, but that was over quickly.  I spent time getting the garage sale and my lemonade stand ready.  I ended up making $28 on my lemonade stand and bought some Robux!  I have continued swim lessons and spent lots of time on screens and creating.  I went to Ellie's volleyball scrimmage and read Percy Jackson, which is my new interest.  I got to go over and play at Kyrie's since she is moving soon.

We had a 4th of July BBQ with Fajen's and Nana Arden at our house.  I loved the fireworks and smores and said it was the best 4th of July ever!  We ran some errands and packed for Vegas before mom and dad left for a concert in St. Louis.  I stayed home with Ellie and couldn't go to sleep.  I tried to sleep on her floor until she kicked me out.  Mom and dad came home and we left for a 7 AM flight out of Kansas City to Vegas!

We had an interesting time at Ellie's volleyball Nationals.  I didn't watch much of the games, but I know they weren't playing great and Ellie was pretty sad.  I did everything I could to cheer her up.  I spent most of the time on my iPad.  I didn't complain one bit!  It was super hot out there (high of 118 degrees every day) and we had to walk lots of places.  We got to have dinner out a few times and Wahlburger's was my favorite. Dad took me to the pool one day after mom tried the day before. I was really glad to come back home.

Mom stayed in Kansas City for a conference for four days and dad was in charge.  He took me to Luna's birthday pool party and Ellie had try-outs.  Then dad got sick, Ellie got sick, and mom got sick Yep, Covid!  I don't know how, but I didn't get it!  Lots more iPad time for me!

I got to have 2 swim lessons in one day for a make up and Autumn (and her friend Ellie) and Yara and I went out for ice cream in between.  What else can we do this summer?

I might share Twist, if there's any left
