We had a family fun day and first went out for bagels, the lunch at D. Rowe's, the haircuts, then painting at the Mud Room. Even though I said I wanted a butterfly, I chose a car to paint. Daddy helped me make it look like Lightning McQueen.
I really like to listen to The Greatest Showman in the car and ask for it often. Mommy tried to introduce me to another CD and handed me something called the "Dixie Chicks". I asked her, "Why are these humans and not chicks?"
We celebrated the 4th of July at Aunt Lisa's house for a BBQ and then came back to our house to watch fireworks on our driveway. I was so excited to see them and wasn't scared at all!
Our biggest excitement this month was going to Gulf Shores for vacation! We stopped halfway the first night and stayed in a hotel and went swimming. Ironically, Mommy's cousin and her entire family were going there too the same day. I hadn't seen her in a while and Mommy called me my godmother. I called her my "Fairy Godmother!"
We were so excited to go to the beach and I loved the sand. The ocean waves were pretty cool for about the first 2 minutes, and then they knocked me over! I cried and was done with the water for the next two days! I was perfectly content playing in the sand, making my sandcastles. We went on a dolphin cruise and I was in a pretty crabby mood and didn't even want to sit up to see them. I got some snuggled from Daddy and got to see them though. I was also able to go "fishing" on the boat when we were going back. I had a lot of fun doing that.
Most mornings, I slept until 8:30, later than I ever do. Sometimes I was pretty cranky though. We were coming back to the hotel and I wanted to cross the street but there was a truck going across and I put my hand on my hip and finger in the air, wagging it at him and yelling. I got in trouble for that! I also didn't participate in all the family pictures.
However, on the third day, I decided I wanted to try the water and kept getting braver. At first, Mommy and Daddy held me while I dipped my feet in, then they held me to "swim", and finally I bobbed in the water and "body surfed" in my life jacket! It wasn't so bad and I can't wait to go back! We got up early on the last morning to see the sunrise and head home. I was so tired I fell asleep in the car before we were even out of Gulf Shores! We drove all the way home in one day.
We celebrated Mommy's birthday the next day, and I went to Luna's birthday party the next day. It was a pool party, and rained halfway through. I was so sad that Luna's party was "ruined!"
The next day, we went to the Cardinals game and met up with Heather, Sean, Ashley, and Ian. Mike Matheny had been fired the day before, and we brought home a winner!
Aunt Lisa invited us to see Shrek the Musical at MU. I was really worried about where Shrek's Mommy and Daddy were (who were only in the beginning of the very first scene!) I was confused in several parts, but otherwise I really enjoyed it! Our family watched the movie the next night to fill in the gaps.
We are finally almost back to a normal schedule. I am enjoying being back at school with my friends, even though I ask Mommy to "pick me up shortly".
