We got to enjoy a lot of cold and snow to start Christmas break! Our family went to Washington on the 23rd to enjoy celebrating Christmas at Papa Ron and Linda’s. Mark and Chase came over and we had lasagna from Aldo's. It was a nice, relaxing time and we spent the night. Papa Ron even made us breakfast in the morning before we went over to see Grandma Rose. It is so nice to see her each year. We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom’s. Uncle Steve, Harper, and Hadley made a saran wrap game and we had a blast ripping it apart! I ended up with the $20 at the end of the game. I love going to Grandma's house! We left early to go to Midnight mass for the first time. I kept begging to go home because I was so tired!
We got to celebrate Christmas at home. I love that tradition, and we also eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast. My Santa gifts this year were Pokemon Violet for my switch and a Harry Potter blanket. We were supposed to go to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney’s on Christmas but it was rescheduled to the day after because Catherine was sick. We celebrated at Aunt Lisa and Uncle Otto’s and had a nice time hanging out as a family again.
We did a lot over the week between Christmas and New Year's. Autumn came over to play. We have such a great time together and love to be creative in our play. I wrote all of my thank you notes. Mom took Ellie and me to get our ears pierced at a tattoo shop. I didn't think it was going to hurt, but it did! I kept telling myself it was worth it. I was also pretty crabby that week and had a lot of separation anxiety. I went to Avonlea’s
house to play, but didn't want mom to leave. After she did, I had a lot of fun.
New Year’s Eve was so much fun this year! Ellie's boyfriend Aaron came over to decorate cookies (our tradition). We played Taco Cat Goat
Cheese Pizza and Throw Throw Burrito. I think Aaron likes hanging out with me, but I don't think Ellie appreciated it. With all that fun, I made it to midnight!
Our Church had another brunch worship before we went back to school. I don't think I was ready to go back. Mom had lots of meetings after school so Dad picked me up so I don’t have to stay at school. I am still getting anxious when I have to separate from Mom at school. I just keep saying “I don’t know where she is”.
We went to STL for Ellie’s first volleyball tournament. I was super excited to spend
two nights in a hotel and to swim in the pool. I wanted mom to join me but she said it was too cold. We made it back just in time for Sally’s birthday party at Flipz. Of course, we got into an argument at the end of the party.
Some other fun things this month- we visited Nana Arden and Papa Rodney and actually hung out in their house and played ball. Our family officially joined the Church. I had Autumn over to play and went to Avonlea’s to play on our day off. Aurora made butterbeer since I am into Harry Potter (but I didn't like it.)
I was not feeling well Wednesday at school and mom picked me up since she was home sick. I felt better the next day and went to school on Thursday and Friday. We tested for Covid before leaving for Aunt Heather’s, and I was positive! I stayed home with Dad, who also ended up testing positive. Since I was feeling better and Dad was sick, I had to do a lot of big girl things like getting myself ready for bed, etc. I hope this goes away soon because I've got lots of playing to do!
