4 Years, 4 Months...All about ME!

After years of going to Ellie's events, I finally had some of my own!  I got to have a play date at the spray park with Molly Claire.  I had my dance recital.  The week prior, we had a dress rehearsal and Miss Rachel did my make-up for me.  I think she enjoyed it as much as I did!  I graduated from the 3s/4s class at Walnut Street.  I was pretty somber during the graduation.  My favorite part was the sucker I got at the end.  Nana Arden, Papa Ron, and Nana Carol came to watch.  Papa Ron and Nana Carol came over to visit at our house afterwards.
The next week was the dance recital.  I did an extra class the week before and didn't remember most of the dance!  It was just hard to focus.  We had a rehearsal in the morning and I did a great job remembering the routine!  Afterwards, the moms and girls went out for donuts.  That night, it was really fun to dress up in my pretty dress.  Avie's Mommy Aurora did my make-up.  I got to watch Trolls and Boss Baby behind the stage before we came out.  I stood on the far side next to Avie and we had a grand time being silly.  Unfortunately, I did much better at the rehearsal that morning.  But, all 3 sets of my grandparents came!  I felt pretty special.  I got two sets of flowers, and was pretty overwhelmed!  I stayed for a few more dances at the end and saw the acrobatics.  I said with emphasis, "That is impressive!"  Nana Carol and Papa Ron spent the night at our house that night, and we ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel the next morning.  After that, we went straight to the hotel where Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom were staying and went swimming.  Right after that, we went to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's for pizza because Daddy's cousin Amanda was in town.  I was exhausted after that long weekend!
I also had swimming lessons for two weeks this month.  I was able to jump in the water and was not scared at all.  I did not pass the level and still need to work on putting my head underwater and having stronger arms and legs before going on the the next level.  That's OK, I will have lots of time to practice because we went to the pool a couple of times and are going to the beach next month!
I decided that I don't want to do dance anymore, but I have started gymnastics!  I'm just interested in so many different things and would love to do something with a ball too, like soccer or basketball.  Daddy took me outside and said I did a really good job dribbling by myself.
We have had some family events too.  We took a surprise trip to Washington and had dinner with Grandma Kathy, Grandpa Tom, and Great-Grandma Rose.  We had a Memorial Day BBQ at Aunt Lisa's.  Daddy took me to Jonathan's graduation party and I hung out with Nana Arden a lot down by the "beach". Mommy took me to sign up for summer reading at the library, and took Ellie and me to a yoga class.  She has also taken Ellie and me to the park, swimming pool, and spray park after school.  Mommy took Ellie and me to Washington for Father's Day.  We went out for lunch with Papa Ron and Nana Carol and went over to their house to play after.  Then, we went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's.  We played restaurant with an ice cream sundae bar and served everyone.  That was a lot of fun!
Often after I eat, my tummy starts to hurt.  I concluded once, "My belly hurts.  I guess I shouldn't eat anymore food."  I love to have fun at home.  I have been holding my guitar to rock out.  I made everyone call me "Rock" because I was the "upnouncer" (announcer.)  I love to play keep it up with a balloon in the living room.  Of course I make up my own games, and told Daddy all about how the balloon can't touch the different "sectioneries" (sections) of the room.  When Mommy played the Dixie Chicks in the car, she handed me to the CD case.  I said, "Why are these humans and not chicks?"
Even though I graduated from the 3s/4s, I won't be moving up to pre-K until August until more kids leave.  My friend Nori moved up though and I felt lost without her for the first week.  I really miss her a lot.  I keep talking about when I am in her class and when I go to kindergarten "the next day."  However, Miss Jodi and all the teachers have noticed that I am much better behaved and mellow now that we are separated.  She said my real personality is coming out more now.  I also nap better during the day.  That doesn't carry over at home though, and I don't always go to bed easily, I wake up several times and night, and am up before 6:30.  Mommy doesn't always seem happy to see me.
