5 Years, 4 Months...Endings and beginnings

We had a lot of end of the year school stuff this month, including my graduation!  Our family went to Ellie's EEE picnic and played on the playground.  I also got to have our preschool end of the year picnic during the day.  I was so happy when I saw Mommy!  She got to stay and play for a little bit.  I was excited about the face painting.  I had "Mewtwo" (my favorite Pokemon) painted on my face.  I also finished up soccer.  I didn't score any goals, but definitely improved this year and was much more focused.  I am excited to play again next year.
The big news for the month is that I finished up preschool and had GRADUATION!  I was so excited to sing the graduation song (a Barney song) and be a big kid.  We had a silly string attack on Miss Sam at the end!  I really miss my friends already though.
I went to kindergarten summer school open house, and found out that Ms. Huhman is my teacher for the summer.  After the first day, I said, "I love Ms. Huhman.  Can I keep her for 100 days?"  I wanted to know if she would be my teacher in the fall, but we won't know until August.  During summer school, we get to learn our letters and sounds and have a theme of the week (Pirates, dinosaurs, Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, and Fairy Tales).  Once a week, we also get to do Kids in the Kitchen and I LOVE it!  I made French Toast, pasta salad, and fruit yogurt parfait.
The first two weeks of summer school, I also had swimming lessons.  I really struggled with jumping in and just being comfortable in the water.  I did not pass the first level even though this is my third time taking lessons.  We may look into private or semi-private lessons, but not for a little bit.
We went over to Aunt Lisa's house for a BBQ and again for Camille's birthday party.  Ellie also had quite a few friends over for play dates and sleepovers.  I can't wait until I am old enough to do that!  Our family went to Art in the Park and we got to do crafts and walk around and Ellie and I had Caricatures made!  I don't like looking at mine though because I don't think it looks like me.
I decided that I am totally over princesses and My Little Ponies and I'm fine with Mommy selling my stuff because I am decorating my room with Pokemon!  That's the only thing I really love now!  I have posters and wall stickers and stuffed animals and toys.  I've memorized so many different names and words.  I have been playing pretend a lot too, sometimes with Ellie.  I enjoy playing store and named it "Best Shop Around".
Our family volunteered at the Food Bank one Saturday morning.  It was really a lot of fun.  I enjoyed it so much, I asked when we can do it again.  I earned a pass at summer school for Bonkers and we went there one morning.  I had a lot of fun playing with Ellie and Mommy and then ditched Ellie when I made a new friend.
Another Saturday was really busy.  Mommy took Ellie and me to help a friend of hers move and I helped unpack her sons books on a shelf.  We took Ellie to an open gym in Jefferson City, so I got to do more Pokemon stuff while we waited.  Then we went to the library to get, you guessed it-more Pokemon books!  The next day we went to Washington to celebrate Father's Day.  Daddy stayed in Columbia to celebrate with Papa Rodney.  We went to Church and out to eat with Papa Ron and Chase and then back to Papa Ron's house to play for a while.  Then, we headed over to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's house.  We had a lot of fun playing with our cousins.  It was nice to be included with the big kids.
We had to go downstairs one night after I went to bed because of a tornado warning.  I had learned about tornadoes in preschool and was really scared.  I kept asking, "Can the workers fix stuffed animals?"  I didn't know what would happen to my toys if we had a tornado.  I am growing too!  When Mommy asked how I get taller, I said, "food and birthdays!"  Watch out for more growth soon!
