Our family took a trip to Kirksville too. We got a tour of Truman, especially the Exercise Science building that Mommy had most of her classes and did her athletic training work. We ate "ronzas" at Pagliai's, and went to Ryan and Stacey's. It was a hot day so we did water balloons and then just continued using cups. It was refreshing and freezing and fun! Harrison and I got to talk Pokemon and even traded a few cards that we had doubles of.
We also went to Ellie's Missouri Juniors' meeting (also boring and hard to be patient) and then a pool party to meet her teammates. I was able to hang out in a shallow end of the pool and dunk my head under. I'm starting to feel braver.
Then, our family took a trip to Beaver Lake in Arkansas to visit Papa Rick's family. I got to go kayaking with Mommy, and boating, and tubing! I even jumped into the water once. I had to sleep with Mommy and Daddy at night and that didn't work out so well. Daddy tried to transfer me to the floor after I fell asleep and I groggily said, "But I'm comfortable here." Mommy slept on the floor with me that night. Mommy and Daddy were only able to stay for less than two days because of work. Ellie and I stayed there with Aunt Lisa. I love all the spoiling she does! We got to have ice cream every night and have lots of lake time. While I loved the trip, I did miss my Mommy and Daddy.
Ellie went straight to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's when we got home and I got to go to open house for Kindergarten! I was super tired, but found out that I have Miss Schooler! That's who I really wanted because she is pretty, even though I loved Mrs. Huhman. I also got to go on a school supply walk at HyVee and go Pokemon hunting while Ellie was gone.
I spent two days with Nana Arden by myself. We played a ton and watched TV and I think I wore her out. Papa Rodney said it was easier for her when Ellie was there with us. We had a lot of fun there and also went to Aunt Lisa's and then to Pottery Island to paint some pottery.
On Ellie's first day of 5th grade, I went in for my kindergarten assessment with Miss Schooler. I was still tired but she said I did really well. (I told Nana Arden that I wasn't good with writing words, but I was really good at math.) After my assessment, Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom picked me up at school for me to stay with them for a couple of days. I was so tired, I fell asleep in the car on the way there, and also a couple of times just driving around town! Don't worry, I think I wore them out too! We played with bubbles and did a puzzle and I got to make my own pizza! I loved being there but after all the time away from home and my parents, I was ready to be back home. Good thing too, because school was that Monday! I helped make lunches and loved it so much I begged to help the next week!
My first day of Kindergarten was good. Mommy and Ellie walked me to class. I am in class with Caleb, and Miss School quickly realized that we should not be put in line next to each other. We talked Pokemon the whole time! I just can't seem to help it. I always have something to say! When I got to lunch, I couldn't find it! Apparently, someone else took it from another class. Good thing Mommy was there to help find it. But, someone else took it two days later and said it was hers! The custodian told Mommy that I was very patient and respectful and just said, "That's my lunch!" I loved my specials classes and recess the most. Mommy came in to teach counseling on my 4th day and I did a really good job not talking out or calling her "Mommy". Our PE teacher Mr. Simons said he couldn't believe that Ellie and I are sisters because we are so different! He said I was kind of "handsy" with some of the other kids in the class, but nothing he couldn't handle.
I'm looking forward to week 2!
