8 Years, 4 Months...Summer is keeping me busy!

We had field day at school and it was so much fun!  I enjoyed the water activities and just getting to play with my class.  On the last day of school, we had an awards ceremony for 2nd-4th grade.  I was so surprised when Mrs. Heath chose me as one of two students to receive the Citizenship Award!  She told Mom before she left that she selected me because of how compassionate I am to all students in my class.  (Mrs. Heath had a vacation scheduled the last week.)  Dad even came to see me get my award!  I made sure to cheer on all the other students who won too.

We had a week before summer school started.  Ellie left for her Tetons trip and I missed her, but I enjoyed the extra attention I got from Mom and Dad!  They took me to Camille's graduation party and to Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's for Memorial Day.  Dad worked during the week, but Mom tried to keep me busy.  We played soccer, took a walk, and had a water gun fight one day.  The next day was rainy, so we went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in the theater with Lillian and Grayson.  We also signed up for summer reading at the library and got lots of books to read.

Summer school has started and is almost done already!  My first class was about oceans and I learned about the Bermuda Triangle and the Lost City of Atlantis.  My second class was about space, and the third class is about chocolate.  It is being taught by Mrs. Richardson who is retiring after this summer.  I have one more class this summer before it is done. I was not wanting to go to school one Monday and complained about a sore throat, headache, and stomach ache.  I took a negative Covid test though.  I was also upset that another student had been hitting me on the bus.  I reported it and I think it is fixed now.  I think I was pretty tired too, and complained that Ellie got more privileges than I do.

Mom and Dad had a date night the first night of summer school so Marion took Autumn and me to our first swimming lesson for the summer and then I played at her house afterward.  I am taking lessons at someone named Corrie's house.  I struggled with blowing bubbles the first night, but I have gotten better as the weeks have been going on.  We have been able to go swimming at the Boonville pool twice over summer school.

Other fun things this summer so far has been going to Pokémon Go Fest and raid nights. Autumn and I have been playing a lot together at each other's houses.   I went to Camille's birthday party with Dad while Mom took Ellie to volleyball.  Mom, Ellie, and I went to meet up with Papa Ron and take him to a Cardinals game for his Christmas gift.  It was really hot and we had a lot of crazy problems, but we laughed through them.  I got pretty tired at the end of the game, but I got my large pretzel like I wanted!  There were about two days when I got into a cleaning and organizing mode and really impressed Mom and Dad!  I also love to talk and ask questions.

Mom took me to Washington for Father's Day while Ellie and Dad stayed for Ellie to do volleyball.  We went to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom's and enjoyed hanging out with "Aunt Jeff" and his family.  We spent the night and I didn't want to hang out outside and chose to play on my iPad.  (The marble system is starting this week for me to earn screen time-boo!)  Grandma gave me two tomato plants to take care of and showed me how red, green, and yellow peppers were growing in the same pot.  I thought it was cool how they were "living in harmony" and gave them the peace sign with 3 fingers.  We went to Papa Ron's after breakfast and enjoyed playing Uno and then went to Orange Leaf before coming home.

Whew!  That was a lot for one month.  I wonder what this next month holds!
