I started off the month with Covid, and then gave it to my dad. We were not able to go to Ellie's volleyball tournament in St. Louis where she got her concussion. I stayed at home for a day even though I thought I was ready to go back. I just love being with my friends! The next weekend, our family when to Thad and Caryn's house for the Chiefs football playoffs. I really just wanted to hang out with my Mom during that time.
This month, we had our spelling bee. I did ok, and was the third in the class but didn't make the school spelling bee. We also had a planned early release and then an unplanned snow day! We had a spirit week and I dressed as my favorite book character. Of course I chose Harry Potter. I usually wear the cape and carry the wand anyway, so it was just like a normal non-school day. I also participated in PJ day, which I normally don't do. We also had a field trip to the planetarium.
Our family stayed at Jill's house before Ellie's next tournament. We didn't get there until really late though. I liked petting Ale, but was ready for bed shortly after getting there. I am definitely an early to bed, early to rise kind of girl! I enjoyed cheering for Ellie at her tournament. Mom and Dad always brag that I am a very patient girl and a great supportive sister. We played a lot of family games this month, especially Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. It is a lot of fun, even when I get my hand slapped!
Then, it was celebration time! Mom and I went to Aurora's 40th birthday party. I was excited to play with Avonlea, but she had some of her other friends there so I felt a bit left out. I ended up playing with balloons for a long time. The next day was my friend birthday party at Flipz. I invited the whole class plus many others. (Avonlea was there and I got to have her over to play closer to my birthday and everything was fine.) We had a great turn out and it was so much fun! It has been a long time since we were able to celebrate with a birthday party! Later that day was the Super Bowl. Ellie went to Aaron's but Mom, Dad, and I celebrated with the traditional pizza pillow picnic in the living room. That is, until Dad got mad at the Chiefs and turned it off. They even won the Super Bowl!
We had our class Valentine's party. I made a 9 3/4 wall for my Valentine's box. We celebrated Ellie's 14th birthday the next day and enjoyed her cake. We went out to Culver's the next night with Aaron and his mom to celebrate Ellie's birthday. I was off school the next day, and helped Mom prep for my Harry Potter family birthday party. It has been so long since we have done one that I don't even remember them! It was so nice to have the everyone here to celebrate. Papa Rodney and Nana Arden came a little early. Then, it was finally my real birthday! I brought donuts to share with the class and teachers at school I liked Ellie's cake so much I asked for one of my own for my own birthday! That was a month FULL of cake!
