We finally had our last day of school! I keep reminding mom that I will be in 5th grade next year and then middle school! I spent the first part of summer helping to clean the house. I have spent lots of time on screens and creating things. I found a tick on me which was probably from Savannah's. We had another get together on Memorial Day to say good-bye to Jacob. He is moving to Chicago for his job and we will miss him.
I got to start EEE summer school! I didn't get to go last year and this will be my last opportunity. I started with a Disney class and really got interested in creating a story board. I went to the dentist and found out I need to clean my teeth better before they will think about putting on braces. Mom worked on a concession stand to earn money for Ellie's volleyball Nationals. I got to help a little bit to prepare for my lemonade stand later this summer.
Then we went to San Antonio! Our trip was kind of rough and Oklahoma was not our favorite. There wasn't much on the side of the road except signs that said "Hitchhikers may be escaped convicts." We got off the road to go to the bathroom and couldn't get back on for 5 miles of country roads. It also poured down rain and dad did a great job driving. We stayed in Paris, TX overnight. The rest of the ride there-we had a rock hit our windshield that had to be fixed. Less than 3 hours later, a tire came across the interstate and dad had no choice but to hit it. So many bad things could have happened, but we were safe. We stopped at a Buc-ee's to look at the damage to the front. Another thing to get fixed! Mom and I got an Icee from Buc-ee's.
We were so glad to get to San Antonio. We had some pool time the first day. We visited the Alamo and Riverwalk and it was gorgeous! I LOVED the Riverwalk! We ate at a restaurant with Nana Peggy and Papa Rick and Paul, Uncle Ed, Joey, and Sylvia. Our family went to Sea World. The dolphins were my favorite. It was so incredibly hot too and we left earlier than normal. We spent an evening at Dave and Marge's house, looking at pictures and laughing and telling stories. Our family went shopping one day at the Marketplace. I got a blanket for my car (in the future), a t-shirt, and a ring. We visited Paul and Vanessa's and had an engagement party for Paul and Vanessa at Michelle's apartment pool. I had a blast with Maycie, who is Dad's cousin's step-daughter's daughter! We played in the pool forever and didn't want to leave! I really enjoyed our time in Texas and San Antonio but was glad to be home.
I was invited to go roller skating with Savannah. I think I had a bit of a panic attack while I was there. I am used to things coming easy for me and it wasn't easy. We will have to work on that! I am also making "fingernails" out of construction paper like a YouTuber does.
I went back to summer school after a week off for vacation. Luckily, I didn't miss going to the Boonville pool with school. We were supposed to have a big school movie party but for some reason it was only in our classroom and we didn't get to finish Mary Poppins. We also only got to get some of the snacks we were supposed to. I have also started swim lessons again this summer with Autumn.
Our family went to Camille's birthday party. I had Avonlea at our house after school one day to play. I was invited to go swimming at Luna's the next day. I got my hair cut on a day off school. I chose to go to Westley's birthday party at his house instead of the Frankenberg Fest. I'm looking forward to seeing what other fun things we will do this summer!
