Mommy is now off work for the summer, so we have been hanging out and having so much fun! My favorite thing to do is to try out new parks. We are trying to go to as many as we can this summer. I love going down the slides, and climbing anything that I can! I also got to spend time with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tom one day while Mommy, Daddy, and Ellie went to Six Flags. I hear they had fun, but I did too! They also came up one day and we went swimming at the hotel, ate and played at McDonald's, and ordered pizza. I am also doing summer reading through the library and get to put a sticker for each day I read. I sure do love my stickers!
Ellie went off to summer school, and Mommy and I have been having alone time just like the good old days. When we dropped Ellie off the first day, I said, "I miss you Ellie!" We have done a lot of park tours, grocery shopping, reading, and other fun things. I had a play date at the spray park with Autumn, my long-lost baby friend. It was so good to see her. I loved sticking my face in the water and running to wipe it off on the towel. Mommy took me to the car wash and told me what was happening. She said that big octopusses were going to wash the car and I got really scared until she told me they weren't real! (Funny, because Daddy told Ellie they were octopusses so she wasn't scared when she was little!)
I am working hard on going on the potty chair too. I can almost always go when Mommy puts me on there, but I don't always know before I need to go. I get a marshmallow if I tinkle and an M&M if I go poop (although that hasn't happened since we really started potty training.)
I have been to several play dates with Ellie's friends and also went to one of her track meets. I didn't watch much, because all I wanted to do was run around on my own! We had a groundhog dig under our porch and called Critter Control. A man named Peter came out to trap it. When we caught it, I got so excited, I started running around yelling, "Peter! Peter!" I thought he was the one we trapped!
Our family went to Art in the Park and enjoyed seeing lots of artwork, and making some too! We got to see a lot of people and doggies and kitties there as well. We have had brunch at Nana Arden and Papa Rodney's and celebrated Camille's birthday too. We also all took a trip to Kirksville to visit Stacey, Ryan, Jaxson, and Harrison. I had so much fun jumping in their bounce house. I attempted to go down their long "slippy slide", but cried most of the time. I think I was a little scared, cold, and tired. I took a nice nap there, woke up twice, and asked to lay back down and fell asleep! That has NEVER happened before!
We have been spending a lot of time at PetCo and the Humane Society. I hear it's because we have been looking for a dog, but I really love looking at the fish and geckos! Well, we finally found our match! We brought Molly, our 10 week old Lab/Australian Shepard mix home this month. She is so cute and a lot of fun to play with. I think she is going to like chasing me around!
I have said a lot of funny things this month. I narrate all the time when I play and have a lot of great scenarios with my toys. I told a nice story: "I want two puppies-one orange one named Nemo and one brown one named Simba. I'll walk them in the street and say 'Stop, cars!'" When Mommy changes me, she says, "Bottoms up, bottoms down, bottoms, bottoms all around!" Sometimes she says "bottoms, bottoms everywhere" instead. When she does that, I say, "That's not a rhyme! Instead of playing catch, I like to play "catchball". Instead of tires, I call them "tire wheels." I say "slippy slide" instead of "slip and slide". I like to say my "ABCD's" and I call them that when I spot letters anywhere. I also said my ABCD's like this: "A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-E-M-I-L-Y!" and then smile like crazy! I told Mommy that I had "an attitude."
"I a big girl!"
